The leading theme of the cancer congress will be “Cancer, Inflammation and Cachexia: from Theory to Practice”. An extensive scientific program will cover diet, nutrition and cancer prevention, nutritional therapy of the cancer patient and also nutritional and metabolic approach in cancer cachexia.

A multidisciplinary and holistic approach will be presented, integrating several different subjects in clinical and surgical oncology, chemotherapy and radiotherapy along with clinical nutrition, epidemiology, and molecular biology.

Clinical Nutrition has developed an impressive role in cancer prevention and treatment. Every day more information become available about the relation of nutrition and oncology. In order to better discuss the recent achievements in this field we organized the first International Conference of Oncological Nutrition, along with the 3rd Brazilian Congress in Nutrition and Cancer in São Paulo, Brazil.

The event will be held from 18 to 21 of June, 2008, at the most modern convention center in downtown, Centro Fecomercio. English-Portuguese simultaneous translation will be available.

Palestrants are international leaders from nutrition and oncology fields.

One of our main goals is to gatter professionals from multidisciplinary fields envolved with cancer prevention and treatment with a nutritional point of view.

The scientific commitee , national and international, has prepared a meticulous program to explore recent concepts related to complex interation between diet,nutrition and cancer.

A poster section will be disposed during the event and abstracts are already wellcome to be assessed by the scientific commitee. The best clinical and experimental posters will be granted with honor mention in a special section.

The Feocomercio Center has a large exposition area and most of nutrition industries will have an expressive presence.
